Liposuction is a medical procedure which many refer to as for aesthetics purposes only. Most doctors who specialize in this procedure will argue that there are also some people who benefit from liposuction not only for aesthetic purposes. There are different parts of the body that can be treated with liposuction. Thigh liposuction is among the parts which many women and some men prefer to have some work done. The procedure can be costly and will need some combination with dieting and exercise to be able to maintain the positive effect of the procedure.
The thigh is a part of the leg and there are two ways that a liposuction procedure is implemented. Both the inner and outer thigh can undergo liposuction. These parts of the body that undergo thigh liposuction can benefit greatly from the thigh liposuction procedure. The reason for this is that thighs are highly visible especially when wearing pants or jeans which can outline the entire leg. There can be liposuction complication so it is best to be aware what these will be.
Before anything is done to the patient, the liposuction surgeon must first assess if the patient is a good candidate for liposuction. The medical history and the family history of conditions and ailments are assessed. Likely candidates for thigh liposuction are then briefed regarding what will happen before, during and after the procedure. Thigh liposuction may seem not as hazardous as stomach liposuction since there are vital organs that can be affected but the risk is still the same for thigh liposuction.
Initially, the doctor will draw marker lines on the area to undergo liposuction. These areas will be highlighted to show the surgeon where he or she needs to concentrate more during the thigh liposuction procedure. The patient is then briefed again regarding what to expect and what the surgeons and doctors will do during the procedure. After a brief discussion with the surgeon, the patient is then put under anesthesia.
What happens during the thigh liposuction procedure is that a tube about a foot long is inserted into incisions made on the skin of the patient. A mixture of substances is injected into the patient, which then dissipates the fats deposit making it easier for the tube to suck these out. Some bruising and some discoloration on the area where the procedure was done is to be expected. There may also be some degree of pain in the area some time after the anesthesia has worn off. Recently, there have been some improvements regarding thigh liposuction which made the procedure non-invasive and have less downtime compared to the original version.
